The Center of Excellence in Biotechnology Research began its activities on the 1st of Rabia II, 1428 H. The primary objective was to stimulate scientific research and pave the ground for the establishment of a knowledge-based economy. The Center is not limited to one particular discipline but covers a range of scientific fields. The Center’s ultimate goal, however, is to achieve regional leadership in the field of biotechnological research and establish cooperative ties with international centers in order to help transfer and develop modern technology for the common good of mankind. A top priority on the Center’s work agenda is the sustained training of faculty, students, and technicians to make use of advanced technology. High standard of training will allow us to be engaged in international competition in the fields of research and discovery.
The Center’s administration takes the opportunity here to express its gratitude to His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education, Professor Khalid bin Mohammad Al Angari, and to all the administrative staff of the various excellence centers at the Ministry of High Education for their continual support and encouragement, wishing to make of these centers an exemplary research environment teeming with potential and resources and favorable for the achievement of distinguished scientific research in the hope of accomplishing social growth and development as well as scientific competition in the service of mankind.
