VISION
The Center’s vision is to achieve leadership in the field of biotechnological research and provide training with regard to the use of advanced biotechnology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the community’s common good.
MISSION
The Center aspires to achieve excellence in biotechnological research with a comprehensive and high-level efficiency permeating interconnection among the various disciplines in order to provide support for research and education and to facilitate technology transfer and use in the fields of nutrition, agriculture, medicine, and the environment.
OBJECTIVES
The Center’s primary objective is to conduct distinguished biotechnological, medical, pharmaceutical,
and environmental research, which may be achieved by working out an integrated research
system involving all scientific research undertaken by King Saud University and leading centers
around the world.
The Center’s objectives may be summarized as follows:
- Providing support for biotechnological research as a distinguished field of research and education
- at King Saud University
- Enhancing cooperation among the different departments at King Saud University in biotechnology
- Providing researchers in the academic institutions and corporations with the necessary research

- Upgrading the educational system at King Saud University by ensuring integration of research and
